We can refer you to our Social Prescribing Link Worker who can help with non medical issues. These could be issues with housing, or benefits, or relationships which are causing you to feel anxious or stressed. If you would like to be referred to our social link workers or you would like to know more about what they offer please contact reception and we can arrange this for you.

For more than six decades we have helped thousands of people to move forward at times of upheaval and uncertainty. Although, over time, some of the challenges people face are changing, we continue to provide valuable, free and impartial advice and information that you can trust.

Gateshead Carers was formed in 1995 when a small group of carers got together in order to support each other. Today they have achieved the Trusted Charity Mark award recognizing the work they do in Gateshead. They believe that no carer should feel alone and it is vital that all unpaid carers feel supported in their caring role.

We're an independent charity supporting unpaid carers and their families. Since 1990, we've worked hard to improve support, services and recognition for Gateshead residents living with the challenge of caring, unpaid, for someone who is ill, frail, disabled or has mental health or addiction problems.

Caring will affect us all at some point in our lives. We’ll be here for you when that happens. With your help, we can be there for the 6,000 people who start looking after someone each day.
